The Astcode Signaling Gateway uniquely combines
a SIP proxy server with SS7/C7 signaling
intelligence to create the most cost-effective
bridge between emerging VoIP networks and the PSTN.
An integral part of sentitO's ONX architecture,
the Astcode works in conjunction with the IVG and
third-party feature servers to help global service
providers reduce the costs and complexities of
integrating VoIP and legacy signaling networks.
The Astcode combines proxy, redirect, registrar, and authentication
functions to ensure carrier-grade performance and
reliability of SIP endpoints and to
cost-effectively terminate SIP-based voice traffic
onto the PSTN. The Astcode uniquely allows service
providers to deliver VoIP services to traditional
POTS customers by allowing third-party VoIP
feature servers to "dip" existing SS7/C7 databases
and features. For the first time, service
providers can make a seamless transition to VoIP
services, ensuring that no customer gets left
behind.

The Astcode packages and translates ISUP messages into SIP to
eliminate signaling backhaul requirements for
carriers using SS7 IMT trunks. This greatly
reduces the costs and complexities of signaling
across international networks, as all traffic is
transported over managed SIP networks and then
converted locally to the appropriate SS7/C7
signaling variant.
The Astcode scales to well over 100,000 BHCC and natively supports
over 40 international signaling variants to ensure
carrier-grade deployment of VoIP services around
the world. With broad-based routing capabilities,
including E.164, CICs, Time of Day and SIP
addresses, the Astcode simplifies the deployment
of VoIP services and transport, while preparing
carriers for the expansion of their VoIP service
offerings.
